New ‘Flight’ Options At The Airport
Walla Walla,
Wash. -- February 26, 2007 -- Looking to take a flight from Walla
Walla? Now you can without even getting on a Horizon plane. The
lounge at Caravaggio is offering flights of local wines. Guests can
choose the destinations of their flights from more than a dozen
local wineries.
“We’ve designed
our wine list to feature the extraordinary wines in our region,”
said Carissa Meliah, co-owner of Caravaggio and Walla Walla
Catering. “We offer at least 26 different varietals by the glass and
thought it would be fun for people to sample several different wines
at one location.”
The lounge,
which is open Monday through Saturday starting at 11:00 am, offers a
full food menu in addition to beers and local wines. Guests desiring
to take a flight from the Caravaggio lounge can select from
itineraries that highlight different regions in the valley, or
create their own flight from the expansive glass-pour selections.

“The great thing
about our wine list is that we’re constantly looking to partner with
local wineries to feature in our lounge,” said Laura Price, Meliah’s
partner in Caravaggio and Walla Walla Catering. “We just added Woodward
Canyon and Three Rivers to both our glass and bottle wine menus. Within
the next couple of weeks we hope to add Seven Hills and Waterbrook. So
our guests will always have the chance to set different itineraries for
their flights from our lounge.”
Wine flights at
Caravaggio’s lounge start at $14 for five two-ounce pours. For an
additional eight-dollars, one of Caravaggio’s appetizers can be paired
with the guest’s flight itinerary. Reservations for seating in the
lounge are not necessary but are a good idea. And just like Horizon Air,
all seating in the lounge is first-class.
